About Declan Goodman
Technology leader, storyteller and creator of Digital Mythology®
I grew up in Ireland in a practical, hard‑working family. Long before I worked in technology, I was helping in the family welding business and learning that people make sense of the world through stories.
Later I studied Applied Physics and spent more than 25 years working across technology, leadership and transformation. Along the way, I worked with organisations across four continents, helping leaders navigate complexity, change and emerging technologies.
Across industries, countries and leadership teams, I kept observing the same pattern:
People don’t buy into systems. They buy into stories.
That observation eventually became the foundation of Digital Mythology® – a practical storytelling framework that helps leaders make better sense of AI, technology and transformation.
“The technology may be new, but the human need is ancient.”

Digital Mythology® Storytelling Framework
A practical storytelling framework that helps leaders make better sense of AI, technology and transformation.

The Three Pillars of Digital Mythology®
Xīn: Connect people through heart and mind. Metaphor: Clarify complexity through story. Catalyst: Move people into action.
People don’t buy into systems. They buy into stories.
Mythology isn’t about fairy tales. It’s about the deeper stories behind human transformation. Digital transformation is no different – it’s about people, not systems.
Stories are the oldest technologies we know. Across cultures and generations, they have helped people navigate uncertainty, change and the unknown. The characters may differ, but the themes remain the same: challenge, transformation, identity, purpose and renewal. Over time, I became fascinated by how these ancient patterns continue to shape modern leadership, technology and transformation.
Whether working in Ireland, Australia, Asia or Europe, I noticed the same human questions emerging:
Where are we going? Why does this matter? What part do I play?
Digital Mythology® connects these timeless patterns with modern transformation, helping people navigate change with greater clarity, confidence and purpose. The technology may be new, but the human need is ancient. We have always needed a clear way to help people deal with significant change and opportunities.
